There are two aspects of Nordic walking :

EQUIPMENTS

You need good NW poles (Trekking or Hiking poles won’t work – but we could help you here if needed- to get the suitable poles from all leading manufacturers at the very best terms -especially for our ANWA members and instructors.)

PROPER TECHNIQUE

Proper technique and to learn how to use your poles in the correct way is essential – and that is our mission from ANWA.

Here is our recommendation for getting started right now and also to make it time and cost wise efficient for you:

First – get the right poles with our latest edition from our ANWA Instructional Video (USB -Stick) which is already included in our Starter Packages. This 1 hr Video explains in 16 chapters Everything about Nordic Walking and will give you a very comprehensive overview about the potential and health benefits of Nordic Walking. You will then be better prepared for any upcoming training / workshop or certification. With this Video you can already start to practice with your poles according to the specific Instructional part of the Video and be instructed in the right direction in the first place and learn how to use the poles

ANWA had already integrated online training for several years -which means instead of participating in a Group at various locations – the training procedure can be covered remotely and individually scheduled time wise with the ANWA Training & Education Academy in Los Angeles which means no travelling which will save you time and money as well.

The course is laid out in 3 distinct parts.

Part 1: Professional instruction covering Techniques of Nordic Walking for all levels.

Part 2: In combination with Technique instruction we will cover Theory, culminating in a written exam.

Part 3: Upon satisfactory completion of the first 2 sections of instruction and passing the written exam, we will cover “Business and Marketing” support and strategies to support and expand Nordic Walking in your area.

The 3 parts of instruction can vary in time depending on scheduling but it should be possible to complete this certification procedure within 2-3 weeks via individually scheduled appointments.
